“Simply put, I’ve been sketching as early as the age of six and I never really stopped.”
Berndt Heidemann is a desert native that graduated from Palm Desert High School and went on to study art at the University of California Santa Barbara. At the end of a summer internship in Hollywood, California, Berndt managed to secure a job as the Art Department Production Assistant. for Star Trek Deep Space Nine. After becoming an Illustrator for Star Trek: Enterprise and working on various television and entertainment projects, Berndt decided to return home and begin the painting career he always longed to build. He sells his original paintings throughout the desert and works with a host of interior designers on complete remodels or innovative interior designs. Currently, Berndt shows at Villagefest on Thursday night in downtown Palm Springs, right in front of the Starbucks on Tahquitz Blvd and Palm Canyon. He also shows at the College of the Desert during weekends throughout the desert season. A portion of his work is currently being shown at 849 Restaurant in downtown Palm Springs.
